Personal profile

Research interests

His research interests are in nanobiotechnology and bioinformatics applications in this field. Currently he focuses on the application of gold nanoparticles as a nanovaccination platform to deliver bioinformatically-optimized T-cell epitopes (Fondecyt Regular 1221434), by implementing a previously developed proteome-wide immunoinformatics tool for epitope discovery in the context of emerging infectious diseases (Fondecyt Iniciación 11170638). On a different avenue, the research he leads in the nanobiotechnology laboratory addresses the development of colorimetric nanosensors for detection of food contaminants (Fondef IDeA ID16I10221) and smartphone-based technology for Mycobacterium bovis detection using a fluorescent genosensor (Copec-UC 2020.R.79).
