    Sus estudios se centran en el desarrollo de nanobiosensores para la detección de contaminantes trazas en diversas matrices. Donde actualmente dirige el proyecto Postdoctorado N° 3190734, para la detección de contaminantes orgánicos en agua y es director alterno del proyecto COPEC-UC 2020.R.79, para la detección de M. bovis en saliva de bovinos utilizado smartphone. Su segunda área de interés es el desarrollo y utilización de nanopartículas en biomedicina y teranostica, área donde es coinvestigador proyecto fondecyt regular “Engineering peptide-conjugated gold nanoparticles to improve their cellular uptake and intracellular processing of bioinformatically-optimized T-cell epitopes”, a cargo del Dr. Patricio Oyarzún.

    Biochemist from the University of Santiago de Chile and Doctor in Biochemistry from the University of Chile. Specialized in Nanotechnology and its applications in biomedicine and development of nanosensors. With more than 15 years of experience in research and teaching, he is currently an assistant professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design of the San Sebastián University, where he develops his lines of research in the Nanobiotechnology laboratory. In addition, he is part of the academic committee of the master's degree in innovation in biosciences and bioengineering, where he teaches classes and conducts thesis work.

    Teaching

    With more than 15 years of teaching experience in the areas of biology, chemistry, engineering and medicine, Dr. Díaz is currently a member of the academic committee of the master's degree in biosciences and bioengineering, where he teaches the courses of basic nanotechnology (Theoretical and practical). , Applied nanotechnology (Theoretical and practical) and Bioprocess engineering (Practical), in addition to having directed five thesis projects. As an undergraduate, he has taught thermofluids courses and degree work in Civil Industrial Engineering Advance, guiding 4 degree works. In addition, teaching the courses of General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry for Engineering, common plan.
