Research interests

Her current research is focused on studying the effect of maternal metabolic pathologies, their impact on milk composition and on the early development of cardiovascular disease in the infant. Addi_onally, she has studied in pregnancy and postpartum, the effect of dyslipidemia, obesity and gestational diabetes mellitus on fetal lipoproteins and lipoproteins in breast milk and animal models of cardiovascular disease. Regarding the study of breast milk we focus on determining how maternal metabolic pathologies alter lipids, extracellular vesicles, microbiota, markers of inflammation and oxidation.

Postdoctoral at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology PUC (2017), Postdoctoral ANID (2018-2021). Academic Researcher and Assistant Professor (2021-). Upon joining Universidad San Sebastian she was awarded a Grant for Installation in Academia project (ANID 2021-).
