Personal profile

Research interests

His research focuses on the oscillatory activity of the electroencephalogram (EEG) to develop dynamic models of brain networks and tools for assessing hearing loss, vocal production disorders, psychiatric disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases. Using experimental and computational approaches, he conducts multidisciplinary studies with repetitive sensory stimulation to investigate neuronal entrainment and statistical learning. As a co-investigator of the European-Latin American Electroencephalography Consortium (EuroLAD-EEG), a global platform for dementia research, he develops EEG harmonization methods for multicenter investigations that support the development of biomarkers for dementias and other neurodegenerative diseases

Personal profile

Pavel Prado holds a Ph.D. in Health Sciences from the University of Medical Sciences of Havana. He has worked as an associate researcher at the Center for Neurosciences in Cuba and completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Valparaíso and the Federico Santa María Technical University in Chile. He was a faculty member and principal investigator at the Latin American Center for Brain Health, School of Psychology, Adolfo Ibáñez University. Currently, he is a researcher at the School of Audiology and Speech Therapy at the University San Sebastián. In addition, he collaborates with the Research Center for Development in Cognition and Language at the University of Valparaíso

Teaching

Dr. Prado is a professor in the Audiology and Speech Therapy program at the Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences at USS, where he teaches Research Methodologies, Research Seminars and Physic of Acoustic. He is also a faculty member of the Ph.D. program in Computational Biology at USS. Additionally, he is a collaborating professor in the Ph.D. program in Linguistics at Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso and the Ph.D. program in Electronic Engineering at Federico Santa María Technical University
