PhD. Viviana Blanco completed her PhD in Mental Health at the University of Concepción, Chile, during which time she worked as an academic at different universities until joining the Universidad San Sebastián where she is currently part of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Social Work career and the Institute of Studies for the Family, Faculty of Psychology and Humanities of the same institution, in addition to contributing to the work of other research groups such as the Nepsam Program and the Observatory of Parentality at the University of Concepción. Before working in the academic area, she worked in different positions in the public service, mainly related to the area of prevention and health promotion

PhD. Blanco teaches at the Universidad San Sebastián, mainly in the areas associated with Family, Mental Health and social research, in addition to coordinating undergraduate seminars for undergraduate students. In each of the subjects she teaches, she relates, from an evidence-based model, social research, with the link with the environment and social innovation as characteristics of her work

PhD. Blanco's areas of research interest are mental health, parenting, poverty and family development in general, considering an integral approach to health that includes wellbeing, the absence or presence of disease and the social determinants of health
