Dr. Garate completed his PhD in Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering at University College Dublin (Dublin, Ireland). Upon completion, he was offered and undertook two Postdoctoral Fellowships; firstly, at the Molecular Modelling and Simulation group (MMS) from the Universität für Bodenkultur Wien and secondly at the Fundación Ciencia & Vida via a anid Post-doc grant. Before joining Universidad San Sebastian, he was an assistant professor at Universidad Valparaíso. 

Teaching

Dr. Gárate teaches general chemistry at the undergrad level and teaches statistical thermodynamics in the Computational Biology PhD, program of the USS.
