Perfil personal

Research interests

Her current research focuses on abnormally expanded self-reactive memory B cells in autoimmune disease with the goal to better understand the mechanisms underlying disease recurrence and how to overcome therapeutic failures. Her group aims to characterize tissue-resident memory B cells in models of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and their resistance to B cell depletion therapy with Rituximab. During her doctoral studies her group described for the first time a unique subset of memory B cells and plasma cells located in the human thymus. Another focus of her team is the mechanisms underlying memory B cell formation in the thymus.
