    Our main objective is to study the immune mechanisms during the progression of chronic kidney disease, and in the onset of high blood pressure.

    Dr. Amador Carrasco is Assistant Professor at the San Sebastian University (Santiago, Chile), Principal and Sponsoring Investigator of Fondecyt projects from National Research and Development Agency, ANID. He is Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Chile, and he received a postdoctoral training in basic nephrology at Centre de Recherche des Cordeliers, INSERM (Paris, France), which was supported by ANID and a second grant from the French Society of Arterial Hypertension. In addition, he carried out a postdoctoral visit in renal transplants at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg (Germany) with the supporting of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology. Currently, he participates as Active Member in the Chilean Societies of Nephrology, Hypertension and Transplant, and he has been recognized twice with the award “Young Investigator” at the Chilean Society of Nephrology, and at the Chilean Societies of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery. His current research aims to study the immune system activation during the early stages of chronic kidney disease and hypertension, contributing to several publications in journals of the specialty.
