Resumen
This chapter discusses the experimental intervention study in adoptive families, focusing on the short-term effects on maternal sensitivity, security of attachment, and attachment disorganization. In the subsample of adoptive families with birth children positive long-term effects of the video-feedback intervention were found on ego-resiliency and optimal ego-control in girls, and on internalizing behavior problems in both girls and boys. In our prospective, longitudinal intervention study, positive short-term effects of our attachment-based video-feedback intervention were found on maternal sensitivity and insecure-disorganized infant attachment in adoptive families with and without birth children. The outcomes for organized attachment were less consistent: The video-feedback intervention resulted in a larger number of securely attached children than in the control group in the subsample of adoptive families without birth children.
