Resumen
This chapter provides an intervention study is described that employs the Video-feedback Intervention to promote Positive Parenting method to enhance parental sensitivity and effective discipline, with the ultimate aims to decrease child externalizing problems and to prevent the development of later antisocial behavior. Taking into account the theoretical and developmental issues discussed above, the intervention study presented in this chapter was inspired by both attachment theory and coercion theory. The SCRIPT study was designed to test the effectiveness of an early childhood intervention program with a focus on both insensitive and coercive parenting behaviors in mothers of oneto three-year-old children. The intervention program is innovative in that it combines insights from two major theoretical frameworks with respect to the role of parent-child interactions in the development of child externalizing problems: attachment theory and coercion theory. Antisocial behaviors such as aggression and delinquency have received considerable attention in the public debate about safety and crime prevention.
