Abstract
We explore the psychometric properties of Huebner's Student Life Satisfaction Scale (SLSS) in a sample of adolescents. Two models were tested using Confirmatory Factor Analysis. Results indicate one model that follows the one-factor structure and the other model with two factors, based on the Exploratory Factor Analysis. The second factor was created using the inverted items. The bifactorial model has the best fit indexes results. Moreover, the invariance of the model according to sex was examined using by multi-group analysis. We discussed the solution of two factors considering the characteristics of the items and adolescence period. The study contributes to the use and development of self-report measures for the study of subjective well-being in adolescence.
