    Dr. Arancibia is a biochemist who completed her undergraduate and postgraduate training at the Universidad Austral de Chile in Valdivia. She obtained her PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology and later conducted her Fondecyt Postdoctoral project at the Universidad Andrés Bello in Santiago. Throughout her career, she has been involved in various research projects and has contributed to publications. Currently, she holds the position of Associate Researcher in the Millennium Nucleus project EpiNeuro, led by the Universidad Andrés Bello. In 2023, Dr. Arancibia joined the teaching staff of the Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine and Science of the Universidad San Sebastián. At the Patagonia Campus, she teaches subjects such as Cell Biology and Molecular Biology.

    Teaching

    Currently, she works as a teacher-researcher at the Patagonia Campus, teaching the subjects of Cell Biology and Molecular Biology for the Medicine, Dentistry and Bachelor of Health Sciences degrees of the Faculty of Medicine and Science.

    Research interests

    Dr. Arancibia is interested in understanding the contribution of epigenetic mechanisms in such vital processes as memory acquisition, memory consolidation and neural network formation in animal and human models. For this reason she is working as a Research Associate of the EpiNeuro Millennium Nucleus project.
