    Research interests

    His areas of interest are industrial organization, competition measurement, environmental economics and energy. She has experience in the design and estimation of static and dynamic models for oligopolistic markets. She has applied dynamic econometric models to the pension and banking markets (PhD thesis), estimation of pension demand, aeronautical passenger demand, port demand, among others. His latest publications are related to the estimation of water demand with different types of data and the evaluation of a marine reserve with a bio-economic model, models that explains the price of copper with different sources of shocks, among others

    Yarela Flores has a PhD in Economics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, a Master's degree in Economics of Natural Resources and the Environment and a degree in management and economics (Ingeniero Comercial in Spanish) from the Universidad de Concepción-Chile. She is an associate professor at USS with extensive experience in academia in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, project execution and consulting for the public and private sectors

    Teaching

    She teaches microeconomics I and II, macroeconomics, industrial organization, resource allocation and game theory to USS undergraduate students. She also teaches Fundamentals of Economics for Strategic Decision Making - MBA at USS
