Personal profile

I have been involved in academia and university life for more than 20 years. My experience is related to research and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I have also held roles involving leadership and management, academic administration, consulting, and advising on curricular and pedagogical issues. Additionally, I serve as a peer evaluator in quality assurance processes for the CNA and private agencies. Over these years, I have developed an extensive network and academic connections at both national and international levels in areas related to educational psychology, learning, evaluation, and training processes in general.

Teaching

The areas in which I have taught are related to educational psychology, learning theories, developmental psychology and human development, assessment and feedback of learning, curricular evaluation, and training for university teaching. Currently, at the undergraduate level at USS, I teach the course "Learning Strategies for Oral and Written Communication" to first-year Dentistry students.

Research interests

My research lines are related to teaching processes and practices that promote learning and the development of competencies at various educational levels. Currently, I am working in the field of authentic assessment for learning. An emerging area I hope to develop at USS is the study of cognitive functioning and reserve in older adults for the prevention of deterioration and the promotion of healthy aging.
