    Personal profile

    Research interests

Dr. Echeverria Moran research interests include the development of new treatments to treat stress-exacerbated conditions such as Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic brain injury, anxiety, Major depression, pain, and muscle atrophy. We are also investigating the use of natural compounds to reduce the mortality of farmed salmonids. In addition, She and collaborators are pursuing clinical studies to investigate new therapies based on Cotinine, and interference RNAs targeting is downstream effectors in the brain cells

    Personal profile

Dr. Echeverria Moran is a Biochemist with Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology and a basic science and clinical Neuroscientist. She is an oversea member of the Royal society of Medicine (UK) and of the Society for Neuroscience, (USA). Her work in the USA and Chile has focused on Psychiatric and Neurodegenerative disorders. Last 15 years, her team found new molecular mechanisms and therapies for mental conditions, including Alzheimer's disease (AD), Depression, Anxiety, and Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). So far, this research has resulted in, more than 100 publications, 10 book chapters, more than 80 press releases worldwide, and six approved patents in USA and Chile. The patents describe using Cotinine to enhance neurogenesis, diminish neuroinflammation, and treat and prevent PTSD, Major depression, and AD. Also, she is a fellow in the Global Clinical research training at the Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA.USA
