    Research interests

    Research interests are focused on understanding the mechanisms associated with the pathogen-host interaction that occurs in fish kept in aquaculture contexts with a focus on environmental enrichment and animal and microbial physiology. Another line of research is to understand the antimicrobial effects of melatonin on pathogens of aquaculture relevance.  

    Personal profile

    Graduated in Biological Sciences during the years 2006-2010 at the Universidad Austral de Chile in Valdivia and Doctorate in Aquaculture Sciences completed in the years 2016-2020 in Puerto Montt from the Universidad Austral de Chile thanks to the award of ANID scholarship and internship doctoral degree carried out at the University of Cádiz in Spain. During the years 2011-2022 I have participated in several projects related to the identification of pathogens of productive relevance and in projects related to aquaculture and fish diversification. I am currently a research professor at the San Sebastián University, Patagonia headquarters in Puerto Montt.  

    Teaching

    He is currently a Professor-Researcher at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the San Sebastián University teaching classes in the Veterinary Medicine degree in Scientific Research Methodology, Microbiology Internship, General Microbiology and Statistical Analysis, all subjects related to his training. scientific and lines of research.
