    Research interests

    The researcher's line of research is the speech of the elderly, with an emphasis on the articulatory and acoustic phonetics of Chilean Spanish. He is the responsable researcher of a Fondecyt de Iniciación ANID 2025 project, and has publications related to the acoustic phonetics of speakers of Chilean Spanish and the development of elicitation instruments for oral corpora. He participates in studies associated with projects of Vinculación con el Medio (USS) and in collaborations with the Phonetics Laboratory of the Universidad de Concepción and the Centro de Investigación de Lenguas, Cognición y Cultura of the Universidad de La Frontera.

    Personal profile

    Speech therapist graduated from the Universidad de Concepción, Master in Pedagogy for Higher Education from the Universidad del Bío-Bío and PhD in Linguistics from the Universidad de Concepción. His doctoral studies were developed in the Speech Sciences research line. He currently works as a researcher and professor at the Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences for the School of Speech Therapy at the Universidad San Sebastián (USS). His research focuses on the speech of Chilean Spanish of the elderly.

    Teaching

    At the undergraduate level, he teaches phonetics and phonology, and subjects related to speech, language and communication in adults and the elderly. At postgraduate level, he teaches modules related to the management of the critically ill adult patient.
