Dr. Arrué’s research focuses on the valorization of industrial waste and the development of sustainable functional materials, with applications in construction, renewable resources, environmental chemistry, and biopolymers. He has a high level of expertise in spectroscopic, diffraction, and electron microscopy techniques applied to material characterization. His work includes the formation of new inorganic phases of industrial interest. He has collaborated with companies for technology transfer and participated in funding proposals for applied science projects. Additionally, he integrates teaching and research, promoting active learning methodologies to bridge applied chemistry and professional training.

Dr. Ramón Arrué is a chemist with a Ph.D. in Science with a mention in Chemistry from the University of Concepción and a Ph.D. in Sciences Chimiques from Université de Rennes 1, France. An Associate Professor at the Faculty of Science, Concepción campus, his career integrates basic and applied research with an interdisciplinary approach, collaborating with national and international universities. His interests include teaching innovation, industrial waste valorization, sustainable functional materials development, and scientific outreach, fostering the connection between knowledge and society.

Dr. Arrué has taught theoretical and laboratory courses in analytical, organic, inorganic, instrumental, industrial, and general chemistry, integrating teaching with research. He has promoted research internships in nanotechnology, waste valorization, and sustainable materials, providing undergraduate USS students with early experience in applied science.
