Research interests

His line of research is the political and social history of workers in Latin America and the Caribbean, twentieth century. He is currently conducting research on the Latin American labor movement during the Cold War. To interpret and analyze the political institutions and social organizations of Latin America, he subscribes to the stream of transnational history. International organizations such as the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Communist International (CI) and workers' organizations such as the Confederation of Latin American Workers (CTAL) have been part of its specific field of study, contributing to renewing the workers' history of the continent on local, continental and global scales. He is the author and editor of books, book chapters, and articles in mainstream journals.

Personal profile

Academic with 30 years of experience in higher education. He has served as Director of the University Research Center, Director of Faculty Research and University Research Advisor. His research has been funded by CONICYT and ANID. He is currently a member of the evaluation group of Fondecyt competitions in History and evaluator of the ANID National and International Postgraduate Scholarship Program, History and Archaeology area. He has collaborated as a researcher in projects of international networks in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and the United States. He has been a visiting professor of postgraduate programs at the National University of Colombia; University of the Republic of Uruguay; National Autonomous University of Mexico. He is currently the director of the PhD program in History at the University of San Sebastián.
