Research interests

His line of research is the political and social history of workers in Latin America and the Caribbean, 20th century. He is currently developing research on the Latin American labor movement during the Cold War. To interpret and analyze the political institutions and social organizations of Latin America, it is ascribed to the current of transnational history. International organizations such as the International Labor Organization (ILO), Communist International (IC) and labor organizations such as the Confederation of Latin American Workers (CTAL) have been part of its specific field of study, contributing to renewing the labor history of the continent in local, continental and global scales. He is the author and editor of books, chap. of books and articles in mainstream magazines.

Personal profile

Academic with 30 years of experience in higher education. He has served as Director of the University Research Center, Director of Faculty Research and University Research Advisor. His research has been funded by CONICYT AND ANID. He is currently a member of the Fondecyt competition evaluation group in History and an evaluator of the ANID national and international postgraduate scholarship program, History and Archeology area. He has collaborated as a researcher in international network projects in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and the United States. He has been a visiting professor in the postgraduate programs at the National University of Colombia; University of the Republic of Uruguay; National Autonomous University of Mexico. He is currently the director of the Doctorate program in History at the San Sebastián University.
