Personal profile

Matías Henríquez is a doctoral candidate in the Sport and Health program at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, Spain. A physiotherapist by profession, he holds a Master's degree in Health and Sport Sciences from the Universidad Finis Terrae. He was the coordinator of the Physical Activity program for people with disabilities at the National Rehabilitation Institute Pedro Aguirre Cerda and Team Manager of the Chilean football team for people with cerebral palsy. He currently collaborates with different international entities such as the International Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football where he works as a Classification Manager, as well as with the International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity working as a Communications Coordinator.

Teaching

Lecturer with national and international experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate education in physical activity for people with disabilities and neurological conditions, classification in paralympic sport, and physical activity in the rehabilitation context for people with physical impairments.

Research interests

Researcher from the San Sebastian University. His line of research is focused on the study of the classification of people with cerebral palsy in para-sport. He also develops research related to sports performance in athletes with disabilities and the use of physical activity in the field of rehabilitation for people with neurological conditions
