Research interests
Marco Bianchi's main research areas include Quantum Field Theory, String Theory, and AdS/CFT correspondence. Particularly, he investigates the emergence of integrable structures and unmanifested symmetries in supersymmetric field theories. The underlying objective is to provide advancements in the mathematical understanding of Quantum Field Theory by seeking a complete solution to certain models with sufficient symmetries. His approach emphasizes quantitative studies with a special focus on innovative techniques of exact and perturbative calculation, with a strong symbolic computational component.
Personal profile
Marco Bianchi is a theoretical physicist specialized in High Energy Physics. He earned his PhD in 2011 from the University of Milano-Bicocca. Subsequently, he has accumulated postdoctoral research experience at various international institutions: University of Oviedo, Humboldt University (Berlin), Queen Mary University of London, and the Niels Bohr Institute - University of Copenhagen. From 2019 to early 2024, he was an Associate Professor at the Universidad Austral de Chile. As of April 2024, he has joined the Universidad San Sebastián as a Research Professor, where he is part of the faculty for the PhD program in Theoretical Physics.
Teaching
Marco Bianchi has extensive experience teaching basic Physics and Mathematics courses for various scientific careers. Thanks to his extensive postdoctoral research at prestigious international institutions, he is able to teach advanced courses in the PhD program in Theoretical Physics, incorporating the latest advances and research methods into his teaching. His research experience not only enriches the academic content but also inspires his students to engage in research and develop their own scientific inquiries. This integration of research and teaching ensures rigorous, up-to-date, and motivating classes, preparing students to make significant contributions to the field of Theoretical Physics. Additionally, his involvement in international research projects fosters academic collaboration and opens opportunities for his students to engage in global research networks, enhancing the quality of the education he provides.
