For many years Full Professor of Physics at PUC. Advisor of several thesis (Ph.D and Master thesis at the graduate level) and at the undergraduate level as well. Principal researcher, PI, of many Fondecyt proposals (ANID-Fondecyt). Associate researcher of other Fondecyt proposals and also of some international proposals. At this moment Prof.of Physics at the Universidad San Sebastián (Chile), part-time profesor at the Instituto de Física of PUC and Associate Researcher of CCTVAL (Valparaíso). In the past, Research Director of the Faculty of Physics and Director of the Institute of Physics both at PUC. Distinctions: Fellow of the Royal Society of South Africa, Medail of the Chilean Physical Society.

Teaching of almost all courses belonging to the program of Licenciatura en Física. Teaching of several courses at the graduate level (Ph.D and Master degrees) as Advanced Quantum Mechanics, Quantum Field Theory I and II, Quantum Chromodynamics, Classical Electrodynamics, Quantum Field Theory at Finite Temperature, etc.

a) Theoretical physics of high energy physics with emphasis on hadronic physics and pase transitions in quantum field Theory. Characterization of the phase diagramo f Quantum Chromodynamics using several approaches as QCD Sum rules, Effective Models, etc. b) Application of Quantum Field Theory to the physics of Graphene and other materials of the Dirac-Weyl type. c) Some developments in Non-Commutative quantum mechanics.
