Currently, interests are related to the study of secondary metabolites such as phenolic compounds, antioxidant activity and neurodegenerative diseases.
Personal profile
Dr. Luisa Quesada Romero (Colombia): has developed her doctoral work in natural products and bioactive compounds. Has experience using extraction, separation and identification techniques of secondary metabolites. Post-doctorate, Dr. Quesada has worked on projects funded by ANID. Quesada et al. (2021) has studied the phenolic content, antioxidant activity and activity on enzymatic inhibition of cholinesterase and tyrosinase from the native fruit Gaultheria pumila.
Teaching
Dr. Quesada has taught undergraduate teaching. In the nutrition and dietetics degree he has taught subjects such as: Nutrition research I; nutrition research II; research methodology and research seminar. For the chemistry and pharmacy degree, he has taught subjects such as: General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry I and Advanced Organic Chemistry.
Throughout his career he has guided undergraduate theses for students in the health area.
Additionally, he has related his line of research to projects involving links with the environment.
