    PhD in Economics from the University of Oxford. He then completed a postdoctoral degree at the Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET), a cutting-edge interdisciplinary research center at the University of Oxford. He returned to Chile to work as an assistant professor at the Institute of Economics of the Universidad Austral de Chile, a position he held for four years. Advisor to the World Economic Forum between 2018-2020. Director of the Chilean Economic Society (SECHI) for the period 2022-23.     Teaching

    His teaching covers topics such as macroeconomics, economic growth and development, labor markets and econometrics. In all these topics, the focus is applied to real processes, with emphasis on empirical studies, reading of articles and modern software. In addition, it seeks to develop skills in demand in today's world, such as critical thinking, data management, communication skills, active participation, among others.

    Research interests

    Areas of interest include technological change and its impact on the labor market, productivity and the economy in general. Study trends such as automation, gig economy, and new ways of working. Additionally, it studies economic growth, inequality, and economic sustainability. Methodologically, it combines theoretical aspects with empirical applications. Finally, he also has interests in the philosophy and methodology of economic science.
