    Dr. Luis Molina received his PhD in Veterinary Sciences from the Universidad Austral de Chile. He has worked professionally as a medical technologist in clinical laboratories in both public and private hospitals. Before joining Universidad San Sebastián, he was a professor of General Physiology and Pathophysiology at Universidad de Aconcagua, and a collaborating professor in research and teaching at the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology of Universidad Austral de Chile. He was disciplinary coordinator of Human Physiology at the Universidad San Sebastián. He is currently a research professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Science

    Teaching

    He has taught Human Physiology and Pathophysiology at the Patagonia campus. The biomedical research carried out by the professor has a direct impact on the training of students, since it allows offering updated contents, facilitating the integration of knowledge and the development of critical thinking, crucial tools for academic development and professional life. This is reflected in the participation of teachers in pedagogical innovation activities, the results of which have recently been presented at the VI and VII Meeting of Experiences in University Teaching

    Research interests

    His research focuses on the study of non-canonical estrogen receptors (GPR30/GPER-1) and their potential role in the pathophysiology of breast cancer and chronic inflammatory processes. In this area, he has participated as a research assistant and collaborator in several Fondecyt research projects. He is currently responsible for a research project with internal funding from the University (USS-FIN-23-DOCI-06) focused on pharmacological or endocrine resistance in breast cancer. He has recently collaborated as a reviewer of prestigious international scientific journals related to his area of study
