His research interests are focused on the valorization of agro-industrial waste or by-products using circular economy strategies. Specifically, his work involves the development and application of functional additives obtained by thermochemical conversion of biomass.

Chemical Engineer from the Universidad Nacional Experimental Francisco de Miranda and Doctor in Chemistry from the Universidad de Concepción. He holds a diploma in pedagogical improvement and completed a research stay at the Jagiellonian University in Poland. He is currently a researcher at the Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences at Concepción campus and Principal Investigator of the Fondecyt Postdoctoral Project 3230605 (2023-2026). His research focuses on the development and application of antioxidant additives derived from the thermochemical conversion of agro-industrial waste.

Dr. Colina teaches General and Organic Chemistry to students in the Chemistry and Pharmacy, Dentistry, Obstetrics, and Nutrition programs. He has supervised several undergraduate theses and professional internships. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Universidad Francisco de Miranda, an Associate Professor in the Department of Basic Sciences at Universidad Santo Tomás, and a teacher at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences at Universidad de Concepción, accumulating over 15 years of teaching experience.
