Personal profile

Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Doctor in Medieval History from the University of New South Wales (Australia). He was a postdoctoral researcher at the National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research of Chile. He founded and was director of the Center for Medieval Studies, was dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Academic Vice-Rector at the Gabriela Mistral University. He has a Diploma in Digital Humanities and a Diploma in University Teaching. He has taught at several Chilean universities and is currently an academic at the Faculty of Psychology and Humanities of the San Sebastián University and has published and edited 6 books and more than 60 academic articles in his specialty.

Research interests

His research, teaching and research have focused on the medieval history of Western Europe, particularly the political history of England and Castile in the 12th century, institutional history, parliamentary origins and the monarchy.
