Doctor Jorge Zapata began his studies as a Secondary Education teacher in Mathematics Education (2007-2011). Subsequently, he completed a master's degree in Mathematics with a Major in Applied Mathematics (2012-2014). Then, he began as a researcher with the Doctorate in Applied Mathematics (2016-2020) at the University of Bío-Bío. During his PhD, he spent a stay at the University of Murcia, together with Dr. Sebastián Ferrer, a recognized international expert in his field. In his academic career, he taught at the Universidad del Bío-Bío (2012-2021) and at the Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción (2014-2015). Finally, he carried out a Postdoctorate at the UBB. Currently, he is a Professor-researcher at the San Sebastián University.
Teaching
His area of performance in Teaching focuses on carrying out Mathematics courses for careers in the Health area at the San Sebastián University.
Research interests
His area of research interest is Dynamic Systems and Applications.
His current lines of research are:
• Ordinary Differential Equations.
• Disturbance Theory.
• Hamiltonian Dynamic Systems.
• Celestial Mechanics.
• Biological Models.
