Javiera is an Occupational Therapist, Master in Special Educational Needs, in Educational Research, and Doctor in Education from the University of Exeter, England. Her career focuses on the practice and research of Occupational Therapy in educational contexts, and her main interest is identifying strategies from Occupational Therapy that contribute to the development of inclusive education. She has participated in various investigations in England, and belongs to the SBOT International Network group that brings together therapists from around the world who work and research in educational contexts. She is also co-founder of the TOE community of practice, which brings together therapists from Latin America and the Caribbean interested in this area.

Teaching

Javiera is the lecturer in charge of the research methodologies subjects of the career of Occupational Therapy in Valdivia. She is also in charge of coordinating and methodologically support the degree seminars of the students of this career, in addition to collaborating with subjects specific to the discipline such as Introduction and Fundamentals of Occupational Therapy. She is also in charge of executing the subject of Occupational Therapy for Inclusion, which allows her to share her knowledge of the area to the student community of this career.
