    Felipe Ruiz Allende research focuses on energy conversion with the aim of increasing modularity, high power density and efficiency. In 2023 he joined the Energy Transition Centre, USS, where he is currently a researcher. During his PhD, he devised the idea of modular solid-state transformers as an enabling technology for solving most distribution grid problems and for the development of smart grids.
