    Personal profile

    Research interests

Cristian Quinzacara studies generalizations of Einstein's theory of General Relativity (GR). In particular, he is dedicated to the formulation of new Chern-Simons type theories of gravity and the search for their cosmological and black hole solutions, among others. Chern-Simons type theories are an active area of research in gravitational physics since they are inspired by the same principles that led Einstein to find GR, and they also have exceptional geometric properties that could lead to formulating a quantized theory of gravity. .

    Personal profile

Cristian Quinzacara is a theoretical physicist. He obtained his doctorate in Physical Sciences at the University of Concepción (UdeC), Chile. It is dedicated to the study of gravitational interaction, seeking generalizations of Einstein's Theory of General Relativity with appropriate geometric properties that can lead to formulating a quantized theory of gravity, something like a "Theory of Everything." On the other hand, he considers himself an amateur scientific communicator. Part of his time is dedicated to communicating the science that he is passionate about by giving physics talks for all types of interested parties, from high school students to older adults, in a pleasant and accessible language. He currently holds a position as Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design (FIAD) of the San Sebastián University.

    Teaching

Cristian Quinzacara teaches in all areas of physics for engineering students at the San Sebastián University (Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics and Laboratories). He served as National Physics Coordinator of the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design during the period 2014-2018. He was responsible for formulating and executing the project that equipped the university's Physics laboratories in its four locations, as well as the design of the activities carried out there. He currently directs the FIAD Early Approach to Undergraduate Research Program.
