    El Dr. Cristhian Mendoza participó como tesista doctoral en el proyecto Fondecyt N°1150194 “Investigating cotinine as a therapy for post-traumatic-stress-disorder” y luego como colaborador en el proyecto Fondecyt N°1190264 “Role of bone-morphometric proteins in the enhancement of fear extinction and astrocyte protection induced by cotinine in fear-conditioned mice”. Participó en el año 2022, como coinvestigador, del proyecto FOVI220126 “Digital transformation in the development of rehabilitation sciences: the current challenge to use state-of-the-art technology in therapeutic management”. Actualmente es uno de los directores del proyecto Fonis SA22I0092, basado en el uso de la realidad virtual no inmersiva en patologías musculoesqueléticas crónicas del adulto mayor. Su principal interés científico hoy es la aplicación de la tecnología robótica e inteligencia artificial en las ciencias de la rehabilitación.

    Dr. Cristhian Mendoza is a kinesiologist by profession, Master in Medicine and Sciences, he completed his doctorate in Sciences at the Pablo de Olavide University (Seville, Spain), in the area of ​​neurobiology. Associate professor and research professor at the School of Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine and Science, San Sebastián University. Previously he was director of the Kinesiology program at the same university and coordinator of several postgraduate programs. He has carried out undergraduate and graduate teaching activities in several higher education institutions. He currently belongs to the committee and academic faculty of the Master in Musculoskeletal Kinesiology and Master in Neurokinesiology at USS. He is co-tutor of theses for doctoral students at the University of Cádiz and University Alcalá de Henares.

    Teaching

    Dr. Cristhian Mendoza has taught undergraduate courses in physiology, pathophysiology and currently in the basic and fundamental subjects of Medicine, neurophysiology and PBL for the Medicine degree at USS. While in the postgraduate degree he teaches the subject neuroscience of movement, stress and pain of the Master in Musculoskeletal Kinesiology and neurosciences in the Master of Neurokinesiology at the San Sebastián University, Concepción campus. In 2019 he was awarded as an “outstanding USS academic” due to his permanent contribution to the institutional educational project.
