His area of interest has focused on understanding the mechanisms underlying the secretory dysfunction presented by the salivary glands of patients with Sjögren's syndrome, working as part of a multidisciplinary team that has generated approximately 30 articles in high-impact scientific journals and several chapters. book about this disease.

Dental Surgeon graduated from the University of Chile, along with professional development he has carried out teaching work in undergraduate and graduate levels, in addition to participating in various research projects for more than 20 years.
Teaching
He has regularly taught in the areas of General Pathology, Oral Pathology, Oral Medicine, Immunology, Biostatistics and Research Methodology, both undergraduate and postgraduate at Universidad Mayor (2000 – 2018) and Universidad San Sebastián (2017 – date). Additionally, as a guest professor for undergraduate and graduate courses at other universities.
