    His research interests include several topics of Artificial Intelligence, for example heuristic search, automated planning, and knowledge representation, with focus on real-time, on-line, and multi-objective problems. Research collaborators include researcher from US, Canada, Europe, Australia and Israel.

    Carlos Hernández received the bachelor’s degree from the Universidad de Concepción, Chile, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona and the Institute of Research in Artificial Intelligence (IIIA-CSIC-SPAIN). He Also was postdoc in the Intelligence Decision Lab of the University of Southern California. He was program committee member several times of the most prestigious conferences on Artificial Intelligence (for example, IJCAI, AAAI, ICAPS and AAMAS). He is the current President of the Chilean Association of Computer Science (SCCC) from 2019 to 2023.

    Teaching

    Carlos Hernández has taught Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science courses (undergraduate and graduate) for over 20 years. For example, introduction to AI, advanced AI, Heuristic Search and data structure. He has guided several undergraduate and postgraduate theses related to his line of research.
