He has developed his research in geosciences, especially in the field of igneous petrology and volcanology, carrying out projects focused on the study of the evolution of volcanic structures in Chile, mainly using geochemical and isotope analyzes (Sr, Nd and B ). As an academic he has worked in different higher education institutions, carrying out classes at the University of Chile, University of Atacama (Copiapó), University of O'Higgins (Rancagua), University Andrés Bello (Viña del Mar) and at the University San Sebastian

As an academic, he belongs to the Civil Engineering in Mining career, from the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design of the San Sebastián University. Thus, through this Faculty it supports careers from this and other faculties (Veterinary Medicine, Digital Animation, Energy Engineering and Environmental Sustainability) especially in branches of basic sciences and in the development of degree projects. On the other hand, it supports the creation, implementation and development of the Geology degree at the San Sebastián University

As a researcher, he works in the research lines of volcanology and igneous petrology. In this way, its main focus is related to the geological dangers presented by volcanic structures (eruptions and mass removal processes). Furthermore, igneous petrology is related to the origin of the magmas that generate the eruptions, the location of magmatic chambers, and the processes that can give rise to deposits of economic interest for the country.
