    Dr. Bárbara Porter obtained a a PhD in Psychology at Universidad de Concepción. She obtained her accreditation as a psychotherapist in the Chilean Society of Clinical Psychology. Her esearch interests include mental health and self-regulation processes of attention, emotions and behavior in adolescence and youth, as well as psychosocial factors that affect mental health during motherhood. She has participated as an expert in the Chamber of Deputies of Chile and in the Chamber of Representatives of Colombia, in bills associated with the rights of children and parenting.

    Research interests

    Her research interests include mental health and self-regulation processes in adolescence and youth, as well as psychosocial factors that affect mental health during motherhood. She is currently collaborating in the Fondecyt project: 11230864. “Academic and life purposes, social adaptation, emotional, motivational and academic self-regulation: A mixed design to explain dropout intention and university academic performance” led by Dr. Yaranay López-Angulo (University of Concepción).

    Teaching

    Bárbara Porter has 15 years of teaching experience, both in undergraduate and graduate. He has taught Adult Psychiatry and Psychopathology, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, Research Methodology and Psychotherapy. Currently, she teaches the subjects of Skills for Professional Life and Life Course Psychology. Her teaching experience and research interests contribute to the contents and learning experiences related to these subjects.
