Architect, Master's and Doctorate in Construction Technology (R&D&i) from the University of Seville, Spain. Since 2009, he has worked at national and international universities and for organizations such as the World Bank, the Construction Institute, the Ministry of Social Development, and the Ministry of Public Works. He has been the editor of the Revista Hábitat Sustentable, is ANID evaluator, and has evaluated for the National Accreditation Commission, the Ministry of Cultures, Arts, and Heritage (Chile), the Ministry of Education and Culture (Uruguay), CONCYTEC (Peru), among others. Currently, he is the Coordinator of the Ibero-American Network of Energy Poverty and Environmental Well-Being (RIPEBA).
He has taught courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels, supervised both undergraduate and graduate theses, and actively participated in the management of study plans and programs. Currently, he teaches courses focused on sustainability at the School of Architecture at San Sebastián University, Concepción Campus, with an emphasis on architecture, environmental well-being, and energy efficiency.
Alexis Pérez Fargallo has developed research lines focused on rehabilitation and energy efficiency, economic viability, energy poverty, and adaptive thermal comfort. He leads studies on environmental comfort and energy poverty, excelling in the creation of indicators such as the Fuel Poverty Potential Risk Index (FPPRI) and the Poverty Adaptive Degree Hourly Index (PADHI), knowledge that has been incorporated into the Energy Poverty Indicators Platform of Chile (https://vipe.minenergia.cl/). Additionally, he has significantly contributed to the development of methodologies and tools to evaluate energy efficiency measures in buildings.
