Organization profile

The CTE USS was created in 2023 with the overall objective of conducting scientific, technological, and interdisciplinary research to support the energy transition, forming an academic unit recognized for its excellence in the area of research and creation, through the organization and strengthening of the competencies of its academics and the integration of professionals from other faculties.

Its objectives include linking the USS with the public-private sector and with other national and international centers on issues such as electromobility, batteries, renewable energies, and enabling technologies such as power electronics, predictive control, Artificial Intelligence, and others that contribute to a sustainable energy transition.

The CTE USS monitors relevant developments in both industry and research centers, taking into account trends in the increase in clean energy generation and the electrification of end-use applications, which impact the systems of generation, transformation, storage, transmission, integration of different energy sources, control, and distribution to end users.

In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. Our work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
